Hillside Health Care
A Welcoming Rebrand Focused on Community & Comprehensive Care
Hillside Health Care strives to supplement and expand access to interdisciplinary services for the people of southern Belize
Since its founding in 2000, Hillside Health Care (HHC) has served as a lifeline for the people of southern Belize, providing free medical services and medications through its year-round clinic and mobile outreach programs. Located in the richly diverse Toledo District, HHC operates with a mission of equitable access, cultural collaboration, and sustainability. In 2024, HHC undertook a rebranding initiative to reflect its deep connection to the region’s natural beauty and cultural diversity while emphasizing its focus on community health and education.
The rebrand needed to achieve a delicate balance: honoring the vibrant cultural and natural landscape of southern Belize while conveying the professionalism and global outreach central to HHC’s work. For the the logo we proposed an illustrated approach including Belize’s national bird: the toucan. The design incorporates the illustration into the letter “H” providing a whimsical and distinctive mark for a rural health care clinic. Part of the program relies on students and volunteers attracted by Belize’s natural beauty.
The new visual identity was crafted to celebrate Hillside Health Care’s deep connection to the people and environment of southern Belize, emphasizing the organization’s values of sustainability, cross-cultural immersion, and community-focused healthcare.
The rebranding of Hillside Health Care reflects a profound appreciation for breathtaking natural spaces of southern Belize. By thoughtfully incorporating these elements, the new visual identity embodies HHC’s mission to foster health, education, and empowerment in the Toledo District, positioning Hillside Health Care as a trusted and inspiring resource for the community it serves.
