Color & Storytelling Brings Flavor to the New Nespresso Store in Miami

Nespresso Mural, Miami Brickell Center at the corner of Miami and 7th Streets

Miami is a cosmopolitan place for all things Latin. In many ways, it’s a mirror city of other capitals of Latin America. The two girls in the art represent this cultural duality coming together for the ritual of coffee.

AFTER FOUR MONTHS in the making, the new Nespresso store at Brickell City Center in Miami opened its doors featuring a mural designed and illustrated by Carlos Zamora, Chief Director of Cartel. What started as a vector illustration evolved into a vibrant, hand-made mural that blends geometric forms and a dynamic use of color, ideal for a store front at the corner of Miami St. and 7th Avenue, at the heart of Brickell City Centre. Inspired by the connections coffee creates between people, the composition reflects the energy and culture of Miami.

The mural showcases two female figures in a gesture of closeness, with a cup of coffee as the focal point. Graphic elements such as tropical leaves, abstract patterns, and urban references build a visual narrative that bridges tradition and modernity. The store's opening coincided with the relaunch of Nespresso’s Cafecito de Cuba, strengthening the brand’s connection to our's firm heritage.

This collaboration reinforces Nespresso’s identity and commitment to art, design, and community. For Cartel, this project represents the fusion of illustration and commercial space, transforming the store into a meeting point where art and coffee come together in a unique experience.

Miami is a cosmopolitan place for all things Latin. In many ways, it's a mirror city, reflecting other capitals of Latin America. The two girls in the art represent this cultural duality coming together for the ritual of coffee. A dazzling city for people that belongs here and to other place as well, simultaneously. A city that’s partially Havana, Buenos Aires, Tegucigalpa or Bogotá... A Latin American capital that welcomes all. In here, lush greenery and superb architecture coexist.

The modern and the traditional, the old and the new, the asphalt and the beach, the tropical and the night life come together like in no other part of the world. In this illustration, the main characters embrace a whimsical rooster in a coffee ritual to wake up the sun as a metaphor of a coffee ritual from a Hispanic-centered point of view.
